We Handle the Whole Hot Water Job Ourselves

When your hot water system fails, the last thing you need is a plumber who quotes the job and then hands it off to someone else. At OneBookPlus Plumbing, we manage every step of your hot water unit replacement in-house — from disconnecting and removing your old system to installing and commissioning the new one.

We work with electric storage, gas storage, continuous flow (instantaneous), and heat pump systems. Whether your unit has given up overnight or you are planning an upgrade, we give you a clear, upfront price before any work begins. No hidden call-out fees, no surprises on the invoice.

What is included

Everything Covered in One Hot Water Replacement

  • Electric storage hot water replacement

We disconnect and remove your old electric tank and install a new unit of the same or upgraded capacity, including all pipework and electrical connections coordinated on the same visit.

  • Gas storage and continuous flow replacement

Our licensed gas fitters disconnect your existing gas hot water system, install the new unit, and pressure-test all gas connections before commissioning.

  • Heat pump hot water installation

We install heat pump systems including all refrigerant pipework, electrical connections, and drainage — and advise on the best placement for efficiency.

  • Old unit removal and disposal

We take the old system away with us. You do not need to arrange a separate collection or leave a rusting tank in your yard.

  • Pressure limiting and tempering valves

Every replacement includes inspection and replacement of pressure relief, pressure limiting, and tempering valves as required by Australian standards.

  • Emergency same-day replacements

If your hot water system has failed overnight or over a weekend, we carry common unit sizes on our vehicles and can replace it the same day across Sydney.

How Your Hot Water Replacement Works

Receive an upfront quote

We give you a fixed price covering supply, installation, valve replacement, and old unit removal before we begin any work.

3

We arrive and isolate the system

Our plumber isolates the water and gas or electrical supply, drains the old tank, and safely disconnects all connections.

4

New unit installed and commissioned

We fit the new system, replace required safety valves, restore supply, and confirm the unit is heating correctly before we leave.

5

Site left clean, paperwork provided

We remove the old unit and any packaging, and hand you the compliance certificate and warranty documentation for your records.

Hot Water Replacement — Common Questions

How long does a hot water unit replacement take?
Most electric or gas storage replacements take between two and three hours from arrival to completion. Continuous flow and heat pump installations may take slightly longer depending on the existing pipework layout. We will give you a realistic time estimate when you book.
Do I need to supply the new hot water unit myself?
No. OneBookPlus Plumbing supplies the replacement unit as part of the job. We carry common sizes and brands on our vehicles and can source specific models with short lead times. If you have already purchased a unit, we can install it — just let us know when you enquire.
My hot water has stopped working overnight. Can you come today?
Yes. We respond to hot water emergencies across Sydney and aim to attend the same day. Call us directly and describe the fault — if we have a suitable unit in stock, we will replace it in a single visit.
What size hot water system do I need?
The right capacity depends on the number of people in the household and your usage patterns. We will assess your current setup and recommend an appropriate size when we quote. We do not upsell capacity you do not need.
Are there rebates available for heat pump hot water systems in NSW?
Heat pump hot water systems may be eligible for rebates under NSW and federal energy efficiency schemes. We can advise on current eligibility when we quote, but we recommend checking the NSW Government energy website for the latest rebate amounts as these change periodically.
Will you replace the pressure relief and tempering valves as part of the job?
Yes. Australian plumbing standards require pressure limiting valves, pressure relief valves, and tempering valves to be inspected and replaced where necessary during a hot water unit replacement. We include this as standard — it is not an add-on.

What Sydney Homeowners Say

Our hot water system failed on a Sunday morning. OneBookPlus had a plumber at the house by midday and the new unit was running by 3pm. The price quoted on the phone was exactly what we paid — no extras. Genuinely impressive response.
Karen T.· Homeowner, Parramatta
I manage several rental properties across Sydney and OneBookPlus is the only plumber I call for hot water replacements. They supply the unit, do the full installation, and send me the compliance certificate the same day. Straightforward and reliable.
David L.· Landlord, Inner West Sydney
We upgraded from an old electric tank to a heat pump system. The plumber explained the installation clearly, positioned the unit properly for our yard, and cleaned up completely before leaving. Very happy with the result.
