How long does a toilet suite replacement take?

Most standard toilet suite replacements take between one and two hours. If the isolation valve or the waste connection needs attention, allow a little extra time. We will give you a realistic time estimate when you book.

Do I need to supply the new toilet suite myself?

No. OneBookPlus Plumbing supplies the suite as part of the job. We carry close-coupled and wall-faced suites on the van. If you have a specific model you want fitted, let us know when you book and we will confirm whether we can source it.

What is a rough-in measurement and why does it matter?

The rough-in is the distance from the finished wall to the centre of the waste outlet on the floor. Most Australian homes have a 140 mm or 180 mm rough-in. If the new suite does not match your rough-in, it will not sit flush against the wall. We measure before removing the old suite so the replacement fits correctly.

My toilet is leaking at the base — does it need to be replaced or just re-sealed?

A leak at the base usually means the pan collar seal has failed. In some cases re-sealing is sufficient, but if the pan is cracked or the suite is old, replacement is often more cost-effective. We will assess the cause when we arrive and give you an honest recommendation before any work begins.

Can you replace a toilet suite in a unit or apartment?

Yes. We work in houses, units, and apartments across Sydney. For apartments we are familiar with strata requirements and will advise if any notification to the building manager is needed before isolating the water supply.

Do you replace wall-hung toilets as well as floor-mounted suites?
