Understanding POS Reports

The POS reports give you clear visibility into your retail performance — from daily takings to product-level analysis.

Accessing POS Reports

  1. Go to POS from the sidebar
  2. Click Reports at the top of the page
  3. Select a date range to filter the data

Daily Sales Summary

The daily summary shows:

  • Total sales — gross revenue for the day
  • Number of transactions — how many sales were processed
  • Average transaction value — total sales divided by number of transactions
  • Payment breakdown — cash vs. card vs. split payments
  • GST collected — total GST from the day's sales

Product Performance

The product report shows which items are selling best:

  • Top sellers — products ranked by quantity sold
  • Revenue by product — which products generate the most income
  • Category breakdown — sales by product category
  • Low stock alerts — products that need restocking

Hourly Sales

See when your busiest periods are:

  • Sales by hour — a chart showing transaction volume throughout the day
  • Peak hours — highlighted automatically so you can plan staffing

Cash Reconciliation

At the end of each day:

  1. Go to POSEnd of Day
  2. Enter the actual cash in your register
  3. OneBookPlus compares it to the expected amount based on recorded sales
  4. Any variance is highlighted for investigation

Exporting Reports

All POS reports can be exported as CSV for further analysis or accounting:

  1. Set your desired date range
  2. Click Export in the top-right corner
  3. Choose the report type to export

Connecting to Accounting

POS sales automatically feed into your Accounting dashboard. Daily revenue from POS appears in your monthly ledger and financial summary.

**Tip:** Check the daily sales summary at the end of each trading day and run cash reconciliation to catch any discrepancies early.
