Pilates Studios
Compare local pilates studios and book online in seconds.
Pilates studios run reformer and mat classes plus one-on-one sessions focused on core strength, mobility, posture and low-impact conditioning. People book for general strength and toning, movement during pregnancy with instructor guidance, or supervised exercise alongside physiotherapy after injury. Classes are usually capped, so regulars book set weekly times and popular slots fill fast.
OneBookPlus lets you compare Pilates studios nearby, check class timetables and prices, read reviews from members and book an intro class online instantly. Filter for reformer or mat, beginner-friendly sessions and small class sizes, and grab an intro offer without phoning around studios during their class hours.

List your business, freeHow to choose a good Pilates Studio
- Pilates instruction is unregulated, so ask about training; comprehensive instructor courses run hundreds of hours, while some certificates take a weekend.
- If you want rehab-focused clinical Pilates or health fund rebates, it must be part of treatment by an AHPRA-registered physiotherapist.
- Check class caps; reformer classes of six to ten allow real correction, while larger classes suit experienced movers.
- Tell the studio about pregnancy or injuries before booking and confirm instructors are trained to modify for you.
- Compare intro offers, but read what happens afterwards: weekly membership price, minimum terms and cancellation notice.
- Reviews mentioning individual attention and instructors who correct form are worth more than comments about the fit-out.
Questions to ask before you book
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between reformer and mat Pilates?
Mat Pilates uses body weight on the floor and is cheaper and easy to start anywhere. Reformer classes use a sprung carriage machine that adds resistance and support, which many beginners actually find easier on the lower back and more effective for strength. Most Australian studios now centre their timetables on reformer classes.
Can I claim Pilates on private health insurance?
Generally no. Since 2019 reforms, health funds cannot pay benefits for standalone Pilates classes. Rebates are only available when exercises are delivered by a registered physiotherapist as part of individual clinical treatment. If rebates matter to you, book clinical Pilates through a physio clinic and check with your fund first.
Is Pilates safe during pregnancy?
Usually yes, with modifications, and many studios run dedicated pre-natal classes. Tell the studio before your first booking, get your doctor or midwife's okay, and choose instructors with pre-natal training. Expect positions on your back and deep abdominal loading to be modified, particularly after the first trimester. Private sessions are the safest starting point.
