System requirements
What you need
to run it.
A browser from the last few years, and a connection. The versions below are not a policy someone wrote down: they are the versions the software is compiled for, read straight from the build configuration when this page was rendered.
Supported browsers
These are minimum versions, not recommended ones. Anything newer is covered. The same list applies to the public website and to the application you sign in to, so there is one number to check rather than two.
Google Chrome
Version 105 or later
Microsoft Edge
Version 105 or later
Mozilla Firefox
Version 104 or later
Safari on macOS
Version 16 or later
Safari on iPhone and iPad
Version 16 or later
Samsung Internet
Version 20 or later
The build configuration also carries not dead, which drops browsers that no longer receive official updates.
If your browser is older
Nothing stops you and nothing warns you. That is worth stating plainly, because the symptom is not an error message: a layout goes strange, a button does nothing, a date picker refuses to open. If you are below one of the versions above, update the browser before assuming the software is at fault. If updating is not possible on the machine you have, tell us what you are on and we will tell you honestly whether it will work.
How to reach supportDevices
The web app runs in any browser, Android included, and the iOS app on the App Store works on every plan including Free. There is no native Android app yet.
Any computer with a supported browser
Windows, macOS, Linux or ChromeOS. There is nothing to install and nothing to keep updated beyond the browser itself.
iPhone and iPad, iOS 18.0 or later
The App Store will not install the app below this version. It is the same app on every plan including Free, with no separate purchase.
Android phones and tablets, through the browser
There is no Android app yet. The web app runs in Chrome on Android and is the same software, not a cut-down version of it.
We would rather say this here than let you find it in the Play Store. When an Android app exists, this page will list the Android version it needs, and not before.
The rest of it
- JavaScript and cookies
- Both are required. Signing in sets a session cookie, so a browser configured to block cookies outright will accept your password and then return you to the sign-in screen, which is a confusing way to find out.
- A connection
- The web app reads and writes as you work and does not hold unsaved input on the device. There is no offline mode in the browser.
- Screen size
- Every screen is built to work on a phone as well as a desk. Wide tables, such as the ledger and the reports, scroll sideways inside themselves on a small screen rather than forcing the whole page to.
- Opening what the software sends you
- Invoices and quotes go out as PDFs. Data exports arrive as CSV files attached to an email, which open in Excel, Google Sheets, Numbers or any text editor. Both are formats you already have something for. More about getting your data out.
- Assistive technology
- Keyboard navigation, screen readers and reduced-motion settings are supported, and the gaps we know about are written down. Read the accessibility statement.
Common questions
Do I need to install anything to use OneBookPlus?
No. On a computer it runs entirely in the browser, so there is nothing to download, install or update. The iOS app is optional and covers the same account.
What do I need to run it on an Android phone or tablet?
Chrome at the version listed above, and nothing else. The web app is the full product on Android rather than a reduced version of it, and there is no separate download to wait for.
What happens if my browser is older than the versions listed?
Nothing blocks you and nothing warns you, which is why this page exists. Pages may lay out incorrectly or a control may not respond. Updating the browser is the first thing to try.
Does OneBookPlus work offline?
The web app needs a connection. If yours drops mid-task, finish the task before closing the tab, because unsaved form input is not held on the device.
