Setting Up the Mobile Web App (PWA)
If you don't have an iPhone or prefer not to use TestFlight, you can install OneBookPlus as a Progressive Web App (PWA). This gives you an app-like experience on any device — Android, iPhone, iPad, or desktop.
What Is a PWA?
A PWA is a website that behaves like a native app. When installed, it:
- Appears on your home screen with an app icon
- Opens in full-screen mode (no browser toolbar)
- Loads quickly with cached assets
- Supports push notifications (where available)
Installing on Android
- Open Chrome on your Android device
- Go to app.onebookplus.com.au
- Sign in to your account
- Tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner
- Select "Add to Home screen" or "Install app"
- Confirm the installation
- The OneBookPlus icon will appear on your home screen
Installing on iPhone or iPad
- Open Safari (this only works in Safari on iOS)
- Go to app.onebookplus.com.au
- Sign in to your account
- Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow pointing up)
- Scroll down and tap "Add to Home Screen"
- Tap Add to confirm
Installing on Desktop (Chrome/Edge)
- Open Chrome or Edge
- Go to app.onebookplus.com.au
- Look for the install icon in the address bar (a monitor with a down arrow)
- Click Install
PWA vs Native iOS App
| Feature | PWA | iOS App |
|---------|-----|--------|
| Invoicing | Yes | Yes |
| Push notifications | Limited | Full |
| Offline access | Basic | Enhanced |
| Camera (receipts) | Yes | Yes |
| Speed | Good | Best |
Both options sync to the same account and data.
**Tip:** The PWA is the best option for Android users until the native Android app is released.
