Your site serves on a OneBookPlus address from the moment you publish it. Connecting a domain you own is a separate step.
What you need first
Your own domain connects from the Plus plan, and only on an active paid subscription. A trial of any plan gets the OneBookPlus address; the domain connects the day the subscription starts. This is deliberate and no screen will get around it.
The site also has to be published. A verified domain pointing at an unpublished site serves nothing.
The DNS records
The wizard detects your registrar and shows the records for it. In general terms:
- a subdomain such as www points at our CNAME target
- a bare domain with no www uses an A record instead, because a domain root cannot be a CNAME
The wizard gives you the exact values to paste. Do not type them from memory.
The certificate
The HTTPS certificate is issued automatically once the records resolve. There is nothing to buy and nothing to upload.
How long it takes
DNS changes reach us in minutes on most registrars and can take a few hours on some. The wizard keeps checking on its own and finishes the verification when it sees the records.
If the address is still not serving after that, see the troubleshooting page at /help/domain-not-connected.
