How it works

1. 1. Choose the file. Your browser reads it and lists every form field it finds. A PDF with no fields is reported as such, with pointers on how to add them.
2. 2. Fill it in. Type straight into the boxes on the page, or use the plain list under the pages, which is easier on a phone. Tick boxes, choices and dropdowns work as they would in a PDF viewer.
3. 3. Sign. Tap a signature line and draw. The signature is placed on that line and sized to fit it.
4. 4. Download. The completed copy is flattened so the entries cannot be changed later. Your original file is untouched.

Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is read by your browser, the fields are filled by your browser, and the completed copy is built by your browser. No part of the file, and nothing you type into it, is ever sent to us. Like every page on this site, this one records anonymous usage analytics: which page was opened and how it was used, never your file or your entries. Close the tab and nothing you entered is kept.

Why does it say my PDF has no fillable fields?

This tool fills form fields that already exist in the file. A scanned contract has none, and neither does a document saved as a PDF out of Word, because Word does not carry its form fields into the PDF. Add fields in Adobe Acrobat (Prepare Form) or PDF Expert, or build the document in LibreOffice Writer and tick Create PDF form when you export it. Our free construction templates are already fillable.

How do I sign?

Tap a signature line on the document, or the Sign button in the list under the pages, and draw with a finger or a mouse. The signature is placed exactly where that line sits. Any wide text field named like a signature is treated as a signature line; a real PDF signature field is too.

Can the other party edit the completed copy?

The download is flattened: every field becomes part of the page, so it cannot be changed in a PDF viewer. If you need the fields to stay editable for someone else to fill in their part, send them the original file, or use PDF Forms in OneBookPlus, which locks your entries and leaves theirs open.

Does this work on a phone?

Yes. The document is shown with the fields laid over the pages, and the same fields are listed in plain form underneath, which is the easier way to fill a long form on a small screen. Signing works with a finger.

Is an electronic signature made this way valid?

In Australia, electronic signatures are generally recognised, but some documents have their own requirements and some counterparties will only accept a particular method. This tool records nothing about who signed or when; it draws the signature image you provide onto the page. Whether that is enough for a given document is a question for your own advice.
