Why the parts catalogue saves real time
A workshop that doesn't maintain a parts catalogue re-types the same dozen line items every week. Oil, oil filter, air filter, brake pads, brake fluid, coolant, washer fluid, wiper blades. Three minutes per job × 30 jobs/week = an hour and a half of admin you'll never get back. Per year.
Add a part once with default cost + markup, and every future job pulls it in via a two-tap autocomplete. Quotes, jobs, and invoices all share the same catalogue.
Where to add parts
- Open Dashboard → Jobs → Parts (or use the Parts quick-access tile on the workshop dashboard)
- Click + Add part
- Required: Name (
Castrol GTX 10W-40 5L,Bosch S5 brake pad set – front), Cost, Sell - Optional but recommended: SKU (the supplier code), Supplier (Repco / Bursons / GPC / Bapcor), Category (oil / filter / brake / fluid / belt / etc.)
- Save
Cost is what you pay your supplier. Sell is what the customer sees on the invoice. The difference is your parts margin.

Pulling a part onto a job
From any job edit screen:
- Click + Add line item
- Type the first few characters of the part name
- The autocomplete shows matching parts with their default sell price
- Tap to add — the line item populates with the part name, cost, sell price, and the default margin
Override the quantity or sell price per line if needed (bulk discount on multi-vehicle fleet jobs, or marked-up rare imports).
Stock alerts (paid app)
If you want min/max stock levels and auto-reorder POs to suppliers, install the Parts Reorder & Stock app from /dashboard/app-marketplace. It extends this catalogue with stock thresholds, supplier mappings, and a PO email workflow. Most independents don't need it until they pass ~$3K/week in parts revenue.
Bulk import
If you're migrating from another system (RepcoPlus, MotorScan, etc.), email support@onebookplus.com.au with a CSV export — we'll bulk-import to your catalogue without you re-typing 200 lines.
