Paid workshop apps and what you keep

The six add-ons that are really gated and what they cost, the two bundles that include them, the free ones, and exactly what you keep if a subscription lapses.

The automotive marketplace listings are not all the same kind of thing. This is the honest map.

The six that are gated

Without these installed, the screen shows what the app does instead of your data.

AppMonthlyWhere it lives
Insurance Repair Portal39 dollarsVehicles, then Insurance Repairs
Workshop Bay Scheduler29 dollarsVehicles, then Bays
Warranty Claim Tracker29 dollarsVehicles, then Warranty Claims
Pre-Purchase Inspection Reports19 dollarsVehicles, then Inspections
Mechanic Productivity Dashboard19 dollarsMechanics
Tyre Tread & Wheel Alignment9 dollarsVehicles, then Tyre Compliance

Only an owner or an admin can add or remove an app, because installing one starts a subscription and removing one cancels it. Everyone else can open the App Marketplace and cannot change what is installed.

The two bundles

The same apps are also sold as two bundles. A bundle is one paid line, and every app inside it is granted to you at no extra charge.

Whether a bundle saves you anything depends on how many of the apps in it you would have bought anyway, so do not assume. The banner shows the bundle price next to the total of buying its apps one by one, struck through, with the monthly saving underneath. Read those two numbers before you decide.

BundleMonthlyWhat is in it
Workshop Essentials109 dollarsThe workshop floor. Twelve apps, four of them from the gated six: Workshop Bay Scheduler, Mechanic Productivity Dashboard, Pre-Purchase Inspection Reports and Tyre Tread & Wheel Alignment
Workshop Complete210 dollarsAll sixteen automotive apps: everything in Workshop Essentials, plus the Insurance Repair Portal, the Warranty Claim Tracker, the Fleet Customer Portal and the EV Service Specialisation Pack

They are two tiers of one product rather than two products, so you hold one or the other. Installing one uninstalls the other instead of billing you twice.

When your business type is automotive the bundles sit at the top of the App Marketplace as banners rather than as cards in the grid, which is why searching the grid for them can come up empty.

Before you take the higher tier, read the list further down of the four listings that do not currently switch anything on. Workshop Complete contains all four of them.

What happens when one lapses

This is the part worth reading before you cancel anything. There are three states.

Open. The app is installed. Everything works.

Read only. The app is not installed but you already have records here. Everything you created stays readable, permanently, and the work already on your books stays finishable. A pre-purchase inspection sitting half done can still be completed, still take photos, still change status, and the buyer can still be sent the report you promised them. What refuses is starting new billable work: a new inspection, a new claim, a new repair, a new bay.

Locked. The app is not installed and you have no records here, so there is nothing of yours to keep. The screen shows what the app does.

Uninstalling never deletes anything and never strands a job someone started. If you are between subscriptions, finish what is open and stop booking new work into that module.

One detail on tyre readings: recording tread on a vehicle record is free and always was, so readings captured on that free panel after August 2026 do not by themselves unlock the paid compliance roll-up. If you have ever held the app, everything you recorded counts as yours.

The free ones

Six of them, no charge and nothing to unlock. The marketplace lists them as VIN Scanner for Workshops, Courtesy Car / Loaner Manager, Roadworthy / Pink-slip Workflow, Digital Vehicle Inspection, Rego & CTP Reminders, and Capped-Price Service Menu.

Four listings that do not currently change anything

These carry a price in the marketplace and gate nothing. Installing them will not switch a feature on, so do not buy one expecting it to.

  • Logbook Servicing, 19 dollars. The service due list and the automatic service reminders already run for every automotive account.
  • EV Service Specialisation Pack, 29 dollars. The EV fields already appear on the service log of every workshop for an electric, plug-in hybrid or hybrid vehicle.
  • SMS Quote Approval, 15 dollars. The quote approvals board is already open to every automotive account.
  • Fleet Customer Portal, 39 dollars. There are no workshop screens for this today. See the fleet customer portal.

If you are already paying for one of these and would rather not be, remove it from the App Marketplace or contact support.

If a screen says a migration is missing

That is a deployment behind on its database updates, not a subscription problem, and buying the app will not fix it. Ask your operator to apply the outstanding migration.
