If you are running a plan trial and a few app trials at once, you do not have to pay for them one at a time.
Where it is
Settings, then Billing & Plan. The panel is headed Set up your subscription.
It only appears while your business is on a paid plan that has no subscription behind it yet, which in practice means during your plan trial. A business on the Free plan does not get it at all.
What it does
It puts your plan and every add-on app you have not already paid for into a single subscription: one card entry, one renewal date, one line on your statement.
Choosing monthly or yearly
Two choices, Monthly and Yearly.
Yearly tells you what you keep against paying monthly for the same twelve months. Where the yearly price works out to exactly ten months, it says two months free. Where an add-on carries its own yearly price and the saving is some other figure, it names that figure instead of claiming two months. Both cadences are priced by the same code that bills you, so the number on the screen is the number that is charged.
What you see before you pay
- every line by name, marked Plan or Add-on, with its own price
- a total, labelled either per month or for 12 months
- a note about what cancelling will do
Then a button naming the exact amount. It takes you to a payment page where you enter the card once.
When the panel is not there
It is hidden whenever there is nothing for it to combine:
- you are on the Free plan. This is the most common reason, and it catches people running app trials on Free. There is no plan line to charge, so there is nothing to put the apps alongside. Choose a plan first, under Upgrade Your Plan further down the same page.
- you already have a live subscription
- you have no unpaid add-ons left to buy
Where the panel is not offered, apps are subscribed to one at a time instead: from the App Marketplace, or from the app's own line on the billing page.
There is no fixed term on this path
Monthly or yearly only. A 3, 6 or 12 month commitment is offered when you subscribe to a single app or a bundle, not here. See choose monthly, yearly or a fixed term for an app.
Cancelling afterwards
Monthly. Cancel any time from this page. Your plan runs to the end of the month you have paid for.
Yearly. Cancelling stops the next renewal. The months you have paid for run to their end and are not refunded.
Because your apps are on the same subscription, cancelling the plan ends them too. You are shown a list of exactly which app subscriptions end, and when, before anything happens. See how an app trial turns into a charge.
Who can do it
Setting up, cancelling or resuming the plan subscription is the owner only. Adding or subscribing to a single app is an owner or an admin.
