Where the link is
Open the app in App Marketplace. Where a setup guide has been written for that app, a Setup guide link sits near the top of its sheet and takes you straight to the article.
Most apps do not have one yet
Only a handful carry the link today, and they are all automotive:
- Rego and CTP Reminders
- Capped Price Service Menu
- Pre-Purchase Inspection
- EV Service Pack
- Fleet Customer Portal
- Warranty Claim Tracker
No link on an app's sheet means no guide has been written for it. It does not mean you have missed a step, and it does not mean the app needs configuring before it will work.
What to do when there is no guide
- Read the app's own sheet. The description and the feature list are written for that app and are the most specific thing available.
- Install it and open it. Most apps add their own section to your sidebar, and the first screen is usually where any setup happens.
- Search the help centre for the app's name. Plenty of apps are covered by articles in the category they belong to, such as accounting, bookings or rostering, even where no Setup guide link points at them.
- Ask support, naming the app. If a guide is missing for an app people keep asking about, that is how it gets written.
Some apps have no screen of their own
Not every app opens a new section. Some extend a page you already have, and some are listed in the catalogue ahead of being built. If you install one and nothing appears in your sidebar, see an app is not showing in my sidebar.
Before you install, not after
The Setup guide link is on the sheet whether or not you have the app, so you can read the whole playbook first and decide afterwards. Nothing in a setup guide is behind the install. See add an app from the marketplace.
